A Dog's Best Friend was founded in 1995 by Tim Mullally. After training for
16 years competitively and 5 years professionally,
and having been the corporate training director for
a large dog training company with up to 20 trainers,
Tim was sure there must be more humane alternatives
to traditional choke chain style approaches. He found
what he was looking for through the Association of
Pet Dog Trainers. He became the first member of APDT
in south Florida. Eventually participating on several
committees and assisting with the annual conferences.
Tim continued his professional growth by becoming a
Certified Behaviorist through Purdue University. He
started the first puppy kindergarten in south Florida
with the training received in puppy development from
Purdue University. He also started the first Growl
Classes for aggressive dogs in south Florida. A Dog's
Best Friend was the first training company to offer
all positive approaches to dog training in south Florida. (see Tim's resume) In both 1998 and 1999 we were recognized by the Small Business of the Year Awards.
In 2002 Siobhan joined Tim at A Dog's Best Friend...
